LOS ANGELES, Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Actress and singer Kristen Bell brought the magic of Frozen to UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital during a special visit hosted by Musicians On Call (MOC) and Hyundai Hope on Wheels, creating an unforgettable day of joy, music, and connection for pediatric patients and their families.
The visit featured a surprise Frozen-themed experience in the hospital’s Child Life Zone, which was transformed into the winter wonderland kingdom of Arendelle. Patients enjoyed a special screening of the beloved film and received capes and crowns to help bring the experience to life. Bell spent time visiting with patients and their families before the movie and treated attendees to a performance of a cappella songs from Frozen, prompting many of the children to sing along to the music they knew and loved.
Bell also participated in the MOC Bedside program, visiting the hospital rooms of pediatric oncology patients who were unable to attend the event. Through one-on-one visits, conversation, and song, she brought comfort and encouragement directly to children undergoing treatment.
“Bringing joy to children in the hospital is at the very core of what we do at Musicians On Call, and having Kristen Bell join us to share the magic of Frozen was truly unforgettable,” said Musicians On Call President & CEO Pete Griffin. “Music has an incredible ability to comfort, distract, and heal, and seeing the kids’ faces light up as they sang along with Kristen is exactly why these visits matter so much. We are so grateful to Kristen for her incredible warmth, and we are deeply appreciative of our partners at Hyundai Hope on Wheels for helping us make this special day possible for the patients and families at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.”
As part of the event, Hyundai Hope on Wheels presented UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital with its $100,000 Impact Award, which supports innovative pediatric research to improve outcomes for children facing cancer. The presentation was held in conjunction with Bell’s visit, celebrating her longstanding dedication to children’s advocacy. The check was presented by John Guastaferro, Executive Director of Hyundai Hope on Wheels, alongside Griffin and Jackson Trinh, Hyundai Hope on Wheels National Youth Ambassador.
“Everyone at Hyundai Hope on Wheels is incredibly grateful to Kristen Bell and our partners at Musicians On Call for bringing the joy of music to the children at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital,” said Guastaferro, “Each day, we’re driven by the belief that every child deserves a healthier, cancer-free future. With our $100,000 donation, this meaningful day reflected our shared commitment to advancing that mission together.”
The event highlighted the impact of music, personal connection, and philanthropy in uplifting hospitalized children while supporting critical efforts to advance pediatric cancer research and care.
Over the course of their three-year partnership, Musicians On Call and Hyundai Hope on Wheels have collaborated to bring the healing power of music to pediatric cancer patients nationwide.
