London,, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Maxen Power has successfully completed its qualification as a Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) compliant supplier, effective August 2026, with the qualification confirmed by the relevant code bodies and the Performance Assurance Board (PAB). The milestone confirms the company’s readiness to begin migrating customer portfolios onto the new settlement arrangements.
MHHS is a mandatory, industry-wide reform led by Ofgem and delivered by Elexon, and is widely regarded as the biggest change to the UK electricity market. It requires electricity consumption to be settled on a half-hourly basis rather than through estimated profiling data, improving billing accuracy and supporting a more efficient, flexible electricity grid as the UK moves towards net zero.
Following qualification, Maxen Power will begin migrating customer portfolios from October 2026, with migration of all portfolios expected to conclude by April 2027. The company expects to complete the transition to the new MHHS arrangements by May 2027, bringing it fully in line with industry requirements.
“Achieving MHHS qualification is a major milestone for Maxen Power and reflects the considerable work undertaken across our systems, processes and operational teams. This qualification demonstrates our readiness for the next stage of the industry’s transition to Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement and ensures that we are well positioned to support our customers through the changes ahead. We are proud of the progress made by our teams and remain focused on delivering a smooth and well-managed transition for our customers.”
Umair Mahmood, Head of Operations| Maxen Power
There is no immediate impact for customers. Customers’ electricity supply, contract arrangements, and day-to-day relationship with Maxen Power remain unchanged. Customers do not need to do anything at this stage. If Maxen Power needs anything from them to support migration, it will contact them directly. Maxen Power will continue to keep customers updated.
