Ascent Developer Solutions LLC (“Ascent”), a relationship-based lender providing customized financing strategies to top-tier real estate investors and developers nationwide, has welcomed three key new hires as it expands its manufactured housing lending platform. The announcement comes during a record-breaking year as the firm closed $455 million in loan originations during the month of October 2026, surpassing its previous record of $450 million closed during September.
Ascent launched its strategic manufactured housing growth initiative this year to mitigate rising site-built construction costs and address a national demand for quality, attainable, and affordable housing. The firm targets opportunities nationally, as well as secondary and tertiary markets in need of workforce housing, with new construction most prevalent throughout Texas, Florida, and the southeastern United States. To date, Ascent has funded more than $250M in manufactured housing-related deals, with an additional $250M in its pipeline. The firm originated over $1B in the third quarter of 2026 alone, bringing its total volume to $4.6B+ across more than 2,000 transactions since its founding in July 2024.
Ascent Developer Solutions welcomes Jay House, CCIM, APRP, as Senior Vice President, bringing more than a decade of relevant experience helping owners in the manufactured housing space develop and build new communities throughout his career of 30+ years. Jessika Preston, an owner and operator of manufactured housing communities since 2017, joins as Senior Underwriter with a background in manufactured housing operations, infill, and infrastructure. Channing Kammlah joins as Relationship Manager, bringing more than a decade of experience in credit analysis and portfolio management, most recently from Spur Security Bank. House, Preston, and Kammlah join a growing team focused on manufactured housing helmed by industry veteran Gene Kim, Executive Vice President, CRE Strategies, hired in late 2025 to spearhead Ascent’s expansion into the space.
“Ascent’s diverse asset classes and product offerings coupled with top-tier sponsors sets the stage for continued growth in a period of heightened uncertainty,” said Robert Wasmund, CEO & Founder of Ascent Developer Solutions. “House, Preston, and Kammlah bring deep firsthand manufactured housing experience in developing, operating, and underwriting in this space, and offer our clients a lender that truly understands this meaningful asset class. We look forward to putting more capital behind high-quality homes that families across the country can afford, in the markets that need them most.”
By supporting manufactured housing homebuilders, community operators, and housing investors with fast, flexible lending solutions, Ascent helps deliver quality homes and amenity-rich communities that are highly differentiated from manufactured housing of the past, often with high-end finishes and construction, modern technology, sustainability, and efficiency, all while preserving affordability.
Manufactured homes offer 30–50% lower costs per square foot to build when compared with traditional single-family, site-built homes. As recent legislation widens opportunities for the development of new manufactured home communities, Ascent and its experienced developer partners are ideally positioned to provide an elevated homeownership experience, replete with neighborhood amenities catering to active lifestyles, and communities competitive alongside those of traditional single-family residential neighborhoods.
Under the leadership of CEO & Founder Robert Wasmund, Ascent Developer Solutions boasts a proven track record of providing flexible financing solutions that support the provision of much-needed housing options nationally. Ascent’s milestones from the past year included the closing of its largest transaction to date: a $400M construction debt facility for Thomas James Homes, the nation’s largest single-lot homebuilder. Notably, the financing supported the developer’s rebuilding efforts following the devastating Palisades Fires, resulting in the first home rebuilt in the region.
