Playwright Omen Kaine brings the Edgar Allan Poe-inspired stage production back to Southern California following sold-out performances in Los Angeles and New York

SIERRA MADRE, Calif. – Aug. 3, 2026 – Following sold-out performances in Los Angeles and New York, playwright and director Omen Kaine will present a limited encore engagement of The Heart Tells Tales at Sierra Madre Playhouse on Sept. 20–21, 2026.

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story The Tell-Tale Heart, The Heart Tells Tales is an original psychological stage production that explores themes of guilt, trauma, obsession, and memory. Set in Boston during the COVID-19 pandemic, the play follows a psychological journey that examines the fragile line between reality and perception through dramatic storytelling and an original live musical score.

The limited encore engagement follows the production’s previous sold-out performances in Los Angeles and New York, giving audiences another opportunity to experience the stage production.

“The Heart Tells Tales examines how guilt, memory, and isolation can shape the human experience,” said Omen Kaine, playwright and director of the production. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring the production back to the stage and share it with both new audiences and those who have supported it from the beginning.”

All performances will take place at Sierra Madre Playhouse, 87 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, California.
