San Ramon, California – August 25, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
Harmony and Healing, a San Ramon-based nonprofit that brings free live professional musical performances to groups of patients across Northern California, has received a series of honors recognizing its transparency and community impact. The organization earned the 2026 Candid Gold Seal of Transparency, joined Charity Navigator in 2026, and saw its founder honored with a CBS News Bay Area Icon Award.
Founded in 2019, Harmony and Healing provides live musical performances for groups of patients gathered in community and common spaces at hospitals, hospice facilities, rehabilitation centers, memory care communities, VA hospitals, and cancer support groups. Performances often reach 20 or more patients at once and serve individuals of all ages, from pediatric units to senior memory care. The organization also offers select virtual visits via Zoom.
The recognition comes as the organization expands its facility visits throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and greater Northern California, including Marin and Contra Costa counties. The performances are provided at no cost to patients or facilities and are supported entirely through corporate donations, private donations, and planned giving.
David Victor, Founder and Executive Director of Harmony and Healing, was formerly a guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the multiplatinum band BOSTON. He established the organization to bring the therapeutic power of live music into healthcare settings.
“Music has a way of reaching people when words fall short, and gathering patients together for a shared performance creates a sense of community that lifts everyone in the room,” said Victor. “These honors reflect the dedication of the musicians and supporters who make this work possible, and they strengthen the trust that facilities and donors place in us.”
Beyond its patient programs, the organization operates a Private Benefit Concert program, in which Victor performs live with his band at private venues such as wineries and country clubs. Proceeds from these events help fund the free performances delivered to healthcare facilities across the region.
“Every private concert we host translates directly into more visits for patients who benefit from live music,” Victor said. “The response from hosts and audiences has allowed the Harmony and Healing nonprofit to reach more facilities than ever before.”
The organization’s work has been featured by NBC Bay Area, KCRA, and Diablo Magazine, reflecting growing attention to the role of live music in healthcare environments. As the program expands, Harmony and Healing continues to recruit professional musicians and to partner with facilities seeking to bring performances to their patient communities.
